Summer In Morro Bay
Morro Bay is the place to be this summer! Whether you're a traveler planning a trip to the coast to escape the heat or a local hoping for an unforgettable staycation, there is something for everyone to enjoy in our waterfront town.
Summer Activities
Whale Watching
Humpback season is in full swing off the coast of Morro Bay, so of course whale watching is first on the list! We'll be running morning and afternoon trips all summer long, and plan to see tons of whale action. If you've had whale watching on your bucket list, summer is the perfect time to get out on the ocean while the weather is nice and the humpbacks are plentiful. Heading to Morro Bay soon? Book your trip now to secure your spots!

Morro Bay Farmer’s Market
What better way to spend a Saturday afternoon in summer (perhaps after your morning whale watching excursion?) then at a sunny local farmer's market. Morro Bay's Farmer's Market takes place every Saturday from 2:30-5:30pm. Enjoy fresh produce, local goods, and the small town vibes we all love!
4th of July Fireworks From The Water
People flock to the coast to celebrate Independence Day with the Cayucos fireworks display - but one of the coolest ways to catch the show is from the water! Our 4th of July trips book out fast, so if you're interested in joining us on the boat, now is the time to secure your spot either aboard our main Whale Watching vessel 53ft Freedom or the Dos Osos Party Boat with a cash bar and killer sound system. We may even luck out an see whales on the way to Cayucos!

Paddle The Bay
On a warm summer day in Morro Bay, why not head out for a kayak, canoe, or standup paddle board adventure? Get a closer look at the diverse sealife, and check out the coastline from a new vantage point. The bay is a perfect environment for the whole family to enjoy an on-the-water exploration. Head to the Sub Sea Tours and Morro Bay Whale Watching dock to rent the vessel of your choice - available on a first come, first serve basis!
Shanty Sing at the Maritime Museum
Every 4th Saturday of the month through October, the Morro Bay Maritime Museum is hosting Shanty Sing, a free sing-along event that is fun for the whole family! Learn about sea shanties and other maritime music, and have a blast singing along. You can also check out the impressive vessels on display at the museum while you're there.
Art In The Park
Love local art, time in the sunshine, and spending the holiday weekend in MorroBay? Check out Art In The Park, an art show hosted at Morro Bay Park that will happen over the 4th of July weekend and Labor Day weekend. With 100 booths selling handmade art from local vendors, there's something for everyone!

Hike Black Hill
One of our favorite spots to explore nature away from the water is Black Hill. This relatively short hike is great for hikers of a variety of experience levels, and offers incredible views of the bay and Morro Rock from the top! For more information on the hike and how to access the trail, visit the Black Hill page on Morro Bay's website.
Sub Sea Tour
With the kids out of school for summer, our Sub Sea Tour is a fantastic, easy way to check out the bay. The underwater windows on the Seaview, our iconic yellow sub boat, showcase the sea life from above and below the water's surface. These trips run daily, so if you plan to be in town this summer, book your tour!
